Hundreds Mourn Reggae Legend Dodd

Hundreds of mourners flocked to the funeral of legendary reggae producer CLEMENT 'SIR COXSONE' DODD in Kingston, Jamaica on Saturday (22MAY04).

Fans, musicians and political leaders, including SHAGGY, BEENIE MAN and former Prime Minister EDWARD SEAGAR, attended the service in the city's HOLY TRINITY CATHEDRAL.

Dodd founded the STUDIO ONE recording complex in 1963 and signed up BOB MARLEY and LEE 'SCRATCH' PERRY the same year.

Dodd passed away after an apparent heart attack earlier this month (MAY04). He was 72.

Reverend OSWALD TIE said Dodd was "a great man, a man who made Jamaican music a household name. His vision gave rise to the sound that brought Jamaica to the world arena".
