Howie Day Arrested At Boston Airport

Singer/songwriter HOWIE DAY's plans to spend Christmas with his family hit turbulence on Thursday (22DEC05), when he was arrested at Boston, Massachusetts' Logan International Airport.

Day was taken into custody for rowdy behaviour on a Bostonbound flight after he became intoxicated from a mix of sleeping pills and alcohol.

The artist pleaded innocent to a charge of interfering with a flight crew at his arraignment yesterday (23DEC05) in East Boston District Court. He was released on personal recognizance and is due back in court on 16 March (06).

Day, who is from Brewer, Maine, was returning home for the holidays and took a pill to help him sleep on the flight from Dallas, Texas, according his lawyer, PAUL KELLEY.

Kelley says, "He had a couple of drinks. The pill interacted with the drinks and he became intoxicated. He feels badly if he inconvenienced anyone, or caused any discomfort. He has and will apologise, and our hope is that we'll be able to resolve this thing as promptly as possible."
