Hoskins' Shock To Be Short

British actor Bob Hoskins was convinced he was normal height, until he starred alongside statuesque singer Cher in hit movie Mermaids.

There was such a difference between the pair - who played lovers in the 1990 film - the crew organised a box for Hoskins to stand on during kissing scenes.

He says, "I said, 'What are you talking about? I can kiss her.'

"They says, 'Yeah, but Bob you are quite a short fella.'"
