Horror Fans Flock To The Fog

The remake of horror movie THE FOG is the new box office champion in the US, after debuting with a $12.2 million (GBP6.7 million) haul.

WALLACE AND GROMIT AND THE CURSE OF THE WERE-RABBIT, which was last weekend's number one movie, came in second with takings of $11.7 million (GBP6.5 million).

Orlando Bloom and Kirsten Dunst's Elizabethtown overcame poor reviews to open third position with $11 million (GBP6.1 million).

Tony Scott's action thriller Domino, starring Keira Knightley, flopped with $4.7 million (GBP2.6 million), and only claiming sixth position on the box office chart.

FLIGHTPLAN and In Her Shoes are ranked four and fifth, with earnings of $6.5 million (GBP3.6 million) and $6.1 million (GBP3.3 million) respectively.
