Holmes: 'I Had No Chance Against Cruz'
Katie Holmes has always felt inferior to her fiance Tom Cruise's former love PENELOPE CRUZ - both physically and as an actress.
The 26-year-old TV star was blown away by Cruz's presence when she auditioned alongside the Spanish beauty for hit screen romance Captain CORELLI'S MANDOLIN four years ago (01), and confessed she simply couldn't compete.
Holmes says, "I auditioned for Captain Corelli's Mandolin and really liked the script.
"I was pretty burned not to get it. There was no chance.
"Penelope Cruz was better and more beautiful."
