Hendrix Estate Battle Record Bosses Over Bootlegs

JIMI HENDRIX's estate has returned to court to fight a British company which continues to sell unauthorised recordings made by the rock legend, despite being banned from doing so.

Experience Hendrix successfully sued Purple Haze Records last year (04) over the company's plans to release a 1969 Stockholm, Sweden concert on CD. The project was scrapped.

But now the Hendrix estate has learned Purple Haze Records bosses are planning more unauthorised releases - and they're hoping to stop them all. Experience Hendrix filed suit yesterday (12SEP05) seeking the application of the same legal grounds, based on its victory in 2004, to stop all future Hendrix-related releases via Purple Haze Records.

Purple Haze boss LAWRENCE MILLER claims he's within his rights to release the CDs because he has been given permission to do so by a representative of Hendrix's late manager MICHAEL JEFFERY, who claims to own the recordings.
