Harper Supports Fahrenheit 9/11 For Oscar Bid
Veteran actress VALERIE HARPER is pitching her support for MICHAEL MOORE's controversial film FAHRENHEIT 9/11 in the hope it will scoop an ACADEMY AWARD next month (FEB05).
Moore wants the movie, which takes a scathing look at US President GEORGE W BUSH's administration following the 11 September (01) attacks, to scoop an OSCAR nomination - and win - in the Best Picture category, and Harper is in full support.
During a benefit for military families and Iraq war veterans at Hollywood's House of Blues on Thursday (06JAN05), the former RHODA star said, "If you are an Academy voter of you know someone who votes for Oscars, tell them about Fahrenheit.
"Do not tell somebody how to vote, just go up to them and tell them what Fahrenheit meant to you. Fahrenheit will probably not win an Academy Award, but if you put it first on your list, it will become a nominee."
WYCLEF JEAN headlined the benefit, which Moore, ROSEANNE, the GOO GOO DOLLS, JOAN BAEZ and TOM MORELLO attended.11/01/2005 09:46
