Hall: 'My Body Shutdown'
Musician Daryl Hall first realised the severity of lyme disease when the condition made his body "shut down" during a concert in Phoenix, Arizona, last summer (05).
The MANEATER hitmaker, 56, was diagnosed with the tick-born infection in early 2005.
But he failed to accept the debilitating illness, that can lead to symptoms including brain inflammation and arthritis, until he fell ill mid-concert.
He says, "I was in the middle of a song and it just felt like a complete core body shutdown. It's like somebody just turned the switch.
"I felt like I was going to faint, throw up, fall down, everything all at once.
"At first, I had relief because I said, 'OK, now I know that I have something.'
"But then the fear came. The more I read about this, the more I heard about it, the more it scared me."
