Green Day To Hit Big Screen
California rockers GREEN DAY plan to turn their new album into a film - with cameo appearances from pals GOOD CHARLOTTE and RANCID.
The DOOKIE group want AMERICAN IDIOT to translate into a big screen film - similar to THE WHO's TOMMY rock opera.
Singer BILLIE JOE ARMSTRONG says, "We've definitely been talking about someone writing a script for it, and there's been a few different names that have been thrown at us. It sounds really exciting, but for right now it's just talk.
"They (The Who) used musicians, so I guess we'd have to use musicians too.
"Maybe we'll have, you know, TIM ARMSTRONG (Rancid frontman) come out as Whatsername (the central character of the final song) and we'll get the MADDEN brothers (Good Charlotte's BENJI and JOEL) to, I don't know, play some kind of schizophrenic character or something like that."23/09/2004 17:23
