Goldfrapp Thanks Sound Of Music For Success
GOLDFRAPP frontwoman ALISON GOLDFRAPP credits her strict convent schooling with inspiring her singing career, because she spent her childhood convinced she was an extra in THE SOUND OF MUSIC.
The OOH LA LA hitmaker grew up singing along to the DAME JULIE ANDREWS-starring classic, and is convinced the vocal exercises developed her voice to a professional level.
She also thanks the nuns at her school in Hampshire, England, for inspiring her to be a strong and independent lady.
Goldfrapp says, "I loved those nuns, I saw them as really strong.
"I loved saying 12 hail Marys in the morning and wearing the striped uniform. I was always a bit of a drama queen so convent school fitted my romantic little fantasy world.
" I thought I was in The Sound of Music."
