Glitter Appeal Refused
LATEST: Disgraced British rocker GARY GLITTER's appeal against child molestation charges was rejected in a Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, court today (15JUN06). The glam rocker, real name PAUL FRANCIS GADD, maintains he is innocent, despite being convicted of molesting two girls aged 11 and 12 by a Vung Tau, Vietnam, court in March (06). The People's Supreme Court Judge TRUONG VINH THUY said, "The appeal court has decided not to accept the appeal. "The appeal court confirms the sentence of three years. The appeal court decided to expel the accused after serving the sentence." Following the judge's decision, Glitter screamed across the court, "No justice here in Vietnam. They did not listen to the defence at all. I'm innocent." Glitter's three year sentence takes affect from 19 November 2005 - when the singer was arrested trying to flee Vietnam, however he may be eligible for parole in December (06).
