Gibson's Christ Film Banned By Cinema Chain
Mel Gibson's controversial movie The Passion Of The Christ has been banned from being shown in a British cinema chain - by the company's boss.
CURZON boss ROGER WINGATE, 64, has ordered his movie theatres not to show the controversial biblical film - as he believes the epic depicting the last hours of Jesus Christ is offensive and anti-Semitic.
A spokeswoman for the central London cinemas says, "We will not be showing this film."
The film has already broken box-office records in America and is expected to do the same in England. However, the explicit portrayal of the crucifixion has already sparked a furore in America.
Some critics have argued that Gibson has gone out of his way to paint the Jews as solely responsible for Jesus's death.
