Gibson Epic Hit By Storms

The set of Mel Gibson's latest movie epic APOCALYPTO has been hit by South American storms, prompting studio bosses at Disney to scrap plans for a summer (06) release. The film, which follows the journey of a Mayan hero on the run through the rainforests of Mexico, was set to be released around the world in August (06), but now it will hit cinemas at Christmas. Disney bosses have confirmed the release delay, stating yesterday (16APR06) that the production had fallen behind because of heavy rains in Mexico, where Gibson is shooting the film.
