Gervais Triumphs At Rose D'or Festival
British funnyman RICKY GERVAIS has added another clutch of awards to his comic collection after walking away with three gongs at this year's (06) Rose d'Or festival. The Swiss prizegiving, held in Lucerne, saw Gervais' EXTRAS scoop Best Sitcom and Best Actress for co-star ASHLEY JENSEN. Gervais was also honoured for his "exceptional services to the entertainment industry" when he picked up the Honorary Rose d'Or. Other winners included WILDE star STEPHEN FRY, who was hailed Best Game Show Host for his comedy panel game QI, and reality show THE APPRENTICE. Although British talent largely dominated the festival, the soap opera categories were snatched by German series VERLIEBT (Best Soap) and American star JACK WAGNER, who won Best Soap Actor for THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL.
