Gervais To Star In The Simpsons

British comedian Ricky Gervais is to appear as a guest star in an episode of The Simpsons.

The show's producers have reportedly been desperate for some time to sign up Gervais, who is best known for playing sleazy boss David Brent in The Office television programme

No date has been set yet, but the British magazine NUTS have written HOMER should be meeting up with David Brent within the next year.

Gervais has recently produced an American version of The Office, made a guest appearance in ALIAS and picked up two Golden Globe Awards.
