Geldof Daughter Warns Paltrow

Bob Geldof's daughter Peaches warned Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow her newborn daughter Apple faces bullying and taunting for having such an unusual, fruity name.

The OSCAR-winning actress and husband Chris Martin welcomed baby Apple into the world 10 days ago (14MAY04) and have faced media and public criticism for choosing such a bizarre moniker.

Peaches, 14, says, "At primary school I got teased a lot, just as Apple will.

"Fellow pupils used to shout, 'Oi, Peaches, are you parents bananas?'"

Peaches admits she is still taunted by comments such as "I'd like to take a bite out of that peach", and "Look at those peaches".

She continues, "Why do the rich and famous give their children such ridiculous names. Mine has haunted me all my life and will continue to do so. I am named after a fruit. It doesn't make sense at all.

"When I tell people my name, most laugh incredulously. I'm always asked to repeat it twice."
