Garland Combats Writer's Block With Cannabis
THE BEACH author ALEX GARLAND overcomes writer's block by smoking cannabis to free his mind from the restraints of closed thinking.
The 28 DAYS LATER screenwriter refuses to become frustrated with the affliction commonly suffered by creative writers - he prefers to relax with a marijuana joint until his creative juices start flowing again.
Garland explains, "It gets you out of a rut, pulls you away from what you are doing and suddenly you'll try an idea you wouldn't have come up with otherwise."09/03/2005 17:51
