SIR ELTON JOHN's long term lover DAVID FURNISH has praised the British government's decision to allow homosexual marriages, insisting it is "one of the defining issues of our times".
The Canadian film producer, who will wed his ROCKET MAN on 21 December (05), welcomes the move as the beginning of the end to homosexual prejudice.
And while he is keen to show his devotion to the pop superstar, Furnish admits it won't change their relationship.
He says, "As far as I'm concerned, I've always considered myself committed to Elton and he's the person that I want to spend the rest of my life with. So in that sense I don't feel like the dynamic of our relationship is going to change.
"But from a social standpoint, I think it's hugely significant. It is a major, major change. It is one of the defining issues of our times. And I applaud Britain for embracing the diversity of our society."
