Funky Sylvers Dies
17 March 2004Funk icon Edmund Sylvers has lost his battle with lung cancer at 47.
The BOOGIE FEVER singer, who fronted 1970s disco group THE SYLVERS, battled the illness for almost a year, according to his family.
Sylvers was just a teenager when he started scoring hits with his high-pitched voice.
He fronted his family sextet on five hit albums and scored single success with tracks like FOOL'S PARADISE and HIGH SCHOOL DANCE.
