Fuller Threatens To Sue Over S Club Questions

AMERICAN IDOL guru SIMON FULLER is threatening to sue a TV presenter for asking now defunct pop band S CLUB about the money they earned whilst he managed them.

The REACH stars walked out of BBC TV's LIQUID NEWS show last month (22MAY03) after CLAUDIA WINKLEMAN asked about recent reports that 19 MANAGEMENT boss Fuller had made $80 million (GBP50 million) from their career, whilst bandmembers banked a paltry $800,000 (GBP500,000).

Now the former SPICE GIRLS manager has sent a four page letter to Winkleman from his lawyers threatening legal action over the interview.

A source tells British newspaper the DAILY MIRROR, "It's such an unbelievable situation. Claudia was doing what any good journalist would do and ask them about the main issue surrounding the band which was the controversy over the money they earnt.

"She is really stunned to have received a four-page letter from Simon's lawyers. She had every right to ask the band about being angry over not making more money. They were pathetic over the way they walked off set over it. And now Claudia faces being sued."

When challenged about the disproportionate money claims in a interview with Britain's THE GUARDIAN newspaper a fortnight after the Liquid News walk out (13JUN03), Fuller responded, "The whole thing was my idea. I came up with the name and the embryonic group."
