Friends Ending Awkward For Paul Rudd
FRIENDS regular PAUL RUDD felt "weird" during the final weeks of the sitcom - because he was a voyeur of real emotion backstage.
Rudd, who plays PHOEBE's husband-to-be MIKE on the show, admits he kept trying to be supportive to the cast and crew, but didn't know what to say.
He says, "It was pretty emotional for them. I was honoured to be in it but there was a lot of crying even during the read through and the taping.
"I felt as if I absolutely shouldn't be there. It felt as if I was watching somebody bathe. It just wasn't right."
Rudd jokes he pitched an idea for a Friends spin-off to the creators of the show.
He adds, "I thought it should just be about me and it should be called FRIEND. In the beginning I'd be in a fountain by myself with the old umbrella."09/02/2004 09:45
