Fresh Bid To Dismiss Jackson Case
LATEST: Michael Jackson's attorneys are pushing for his child molestation case to be dropped on the grounds that his Neverland Ranch was "unnecessarily searched".
The THRILLER star's lawyers insist the unexpected raid of his California home earlier this month (DEC04) was conducted to "shock and intimidate" the singer and they're pushing for Jackson's court appearance next month (31JAN04) to be delayed because of the disruption.
Jackson's legal team are furious DNA samples were taken from the singer during the search and argue he is being unfairly dealt with because of his celebrity status.
Lawyer ROBERT SANGER complains, "No other person in the history of Santa Barbara has been treated this way."
The 46-year-old star has pleaded not guilty to charges of child molestation, conspiracy and administering an intoxicating agent to his alleged victim, a 12-year-old cancer sufferer.16/12/2004 17:46
