Franz Ferdinand Consider Scottish Parliament Gig

Rockers FRANZ FERDINAND are considering performing a gig at the Scottish Parliament this June (05) to help publicise a political debate about Scotland's need for high-profile music award ceremonies.

Member of Scottish Parliament PAULINE McNEILL will present a motion called "Franz Ferdinand Rocks" on Wednesday (16MAR05) to argue for bringing more events like THE BRIT AWARDS to Scotland.

And the Glasgow-based stars have been asked to join fellow Scots IDLEWILD and MULL HISTORICAL SOCIETY at the Scottish Parliament to bring attention to the county's musical talent.

An insider at the parliament said, "They have been part of the fabric of the Scottish pop scene and the British pop scene for the last year. Even some of the crusties in parliament know who they are."
