Foxy Brown Rejects Prosecution Plea Deal
Hip-hop star FOXY BROWN has rejected a plea deal in connection with her alleged nail salon brawl - even though it would have kept her out of jail and spared her probation.
Brown, 25, got the offer yesterday (06MAY05) in New York's Manhattan Criminal Court, where she faces misdemeanour charges of assault, attempted assault and harassment in a 29 August (05) dispute at the Bloomie Nails salon in Chelsea.
Her lawyer, JOSEPH TACOPINA, said Brown wasn't interested in any resolution which involved her admitting to a crime. He said the offer, a plea to a misdemeanour with no jail time, was "normally a good one, but she's not guilty".
The rapper says, "I have confidence in the criminal justice system. I am confident that I will be exonerated."
Judge MELISSA JACKSON has scheduled Brown's next court appearance for 28 July (05).
Brown, real name INGA MARCHAND, has been accused of punching and kicking two of the establishment's employees in a dispute over payment for a pedicure and a manicure.07/05/2005 01:45
