Foxx + Staunton Are Clear Oscar Favourites After Seattle Wins
JAMIE FOXX and IMELDA STAUNTON lead the way as clear OSCAR favourites for the top acting prizes after picking up another set of awards in Seattle, Washington.
Foxx was named Best Actor by the Seattle Film Critics for his portrayal of RAY CHARLES in RAY, while Staunton picked up another Best Actress honour for her harrowing role in VERA DRAKE.
Early Oscars favourite film, SIDEWAYS, also did well, with co-stars THOMAS HADEN CHURCH and VIRGINIA MADSEN claiming the Seattle critics' Best Supporting Actor and Actress prizes, but the wine-loving comedy lost out to CLINT EASTWOOD's boxing drama MILLION DOLLAR BABY in the Best Movie category.
Eastwood also claimed Seattle's Best Director honours.31/12/2004 01:14
