Fockers Are Even Bigger

LATEST: Unofficial Sunday (26DEC04) estimates for hit new comedy MEET THE FOCKERS fell $2 million (GBP1.05 million) short of the official figures, which have given the MEET THE PARENTS sequel a $70 million (GBP36.8 million) opening.

The Christmas holiday meant the usually accurate Sunday box office take was slightly out - and that's good news for BEN STILLER and ROBERT DE NIRO.

Official figures show the film, which became the biggest box office hit on Christmas Day (25DEC) in America, took in a staggering $70.5 million (GBP37.1 million) in just five days.

New figures show the film also became the biggest film on 26 December - the day after Christmas - with a $19.4 million (GBP10.2 million) take.

But the official figures mean bad news for BILL COSBY's FAT ALBERT movie, which slipped into third place with a $10 million (GBP5.26 million) take - over $2 million (GBP1.05 million) lessthan it's estimated debut.
