Flav Leads Mass Tribute To Vandross
Hip-hop star Flavor Flav lead a crowd of 18,000 through a 10-second silence on Sunday (03JUL05) to pay tribute to late soul singer Luther Vandross, who died on Friday (01JUL05).
Grammy-winning hitmaker Vandross passed away in New Jersey after failing to fully recover from a stroke two years ago (03).
Former Public Enemy rapper Flav performed at the final day of the three-day B Live music festival on south London's Clapham Common, which also included acts Jamiroquai, Brand New Heavies, Amy Winehouse, Audio Bullys and DJ Paul Oakenfold.
Flav said, "We all know what Luther Vandross meant to us and to music. Let's remember an amazing musician."
After the silence, the rapper went on to stun the crowd by showing off his singing skills with Vandross' hit A HOUSE IS NOT A HOME.
