Fellowes Tips Owen As Next 007
GOSFORD PARK writer JULIAN FELLOWES predicts British actor CLIVE OWEN will succeed PIERCE BROSNAN to become the next JAMES BOND.
The OSCAR-winning writer thinks VANITY FAIR actor JAMES PUREFOY would be closer to creator IAN FLEMING's original idea - but he's convinced Owen's recent exposure opposite JULIA ROBERTS and NATALIE PORTMAN in CLOSER will win him the part.
Fellowes, 56, says, "My two favourite actors to play 007 are James Purefoy and Clive Owen.
"James is closer to Fleming's original concept and was fabulous in Vanity Fair.
"But Clive has an enormous scene presence and Americans love him."
