Fats Domino Missing In New Orleans
Veteran musician FATS DOMINO and his family have been reported missing in New Orleans today (01SEP05), days after Hurricane Katrina destroyed the Louisiana city.
The rocker's agent AL EMBRY says he has heard no word from Domino since talking to him by phone on Sunday evening (28AUG05), on the eve of the devastating hurricane.
At the time, according to Embry, 77-year-old Domino said that he planned to stay at his New Orleans house with his wife, ROSEMARY, and their daughter.
Embry says, "I hope somebody turns him up, but as of right now, we haven't got anybody that knows where he's at. I would think he might be safe because somebody said he was on top of the balcony."
Domino's niece, CHECQUOLINE DAVIS, posted a message today (01SEP05) on the Craigslist internet bulletin board, pleading for information. She wrote that Domino, his wife, their children and grandchildren "didn't get out" of the second floor.
The WALKIN TO NEW ORLEANS singer, real name ANTOINE DOMINO, resides in the 9th ward, a low-lying area of the flooded city, where communication lines continue to be down.
