Farrelly Apologises For Foul Catch
Film-maker PETER FARRELLY has apologised to his beloved Boston Red Sox after preventing one of their players from claiming a New York Yankees out in a baseball game earlier this month (JUL05).
The director, who set sports movie FEVER PITCH (PERFECT CATCH) around the Red Sox's world championship victory last year (04), was caught on camera leaning over the team's dug out to catch a foul ball during a game with their arch foe.
Unfortunately, the ball was destined to land in a Red Sox player's glove.
Although Farrelly's team won the game, that hasn't stopped his pals from forcing him to apologise for his actions.
His spokesman tells US magazine Sports Illustrated, "He apologises profusely and knows he may have to make another Red Sox movie to make up for it."28/07/2005 09:27
