Fans Remember Pantera Star

Hundreds of rock fans gathered at the Columbus, Ohio, club where former PANTERA star DIMEBAG DARRELL ABBOTT was shot dead, to pay their last respects last night (09DEC04).

The rocker was shot by demented ex-Marine Nathan Gale while performing with new band Damageplan on Wednesday (08DEC04).

Fans created a makeshift memorial outside the Alrosa Villa venue on Thursday night, constructed from flowers, candles, beer cans.

Devotees braved freezing temperatures and driving rain to lay yellow roses in honour of Abbott's Texas roots and burned candles in his honour, as Pantera tunes blasted from ghetto boxes.

An impromptu jam session broke out when one fan played some Pantera songs on his acoustic guitar, and, at one point, a male streaker ran into view of the TV cameras stationed at the venue, screaming "F**k Nathan Gale." Police chased the streaker and arrested him.
