Fahrenheit 9/11 Premieres In Washington
Director MICHAEL MOORE's controversial political film FAHRENHEIT 9/11 premiered in Washington last night (23JUN04) to wide applause from Democrats, who hope the movie will help oust GEORGE W BUSH from power.
Actress SALLY FIELD joined Moore and more than 800 mostly Democratic guests at the private screening of the documentary which criticises the war in Iraq and alleges connections between the American President and influential Saudi families, including the BIN LADENS.
Democratic National Committee chairman TERRY MCAULIFFE believes the film will play an important role in the forthcoming Presidential election.
He explains, "This movie raises a lot of the issues that Americans are talking about, that George Bush has been asleep at the switch since he's been president."
Moore hopes his movie will prompt Americans to vote against Bush in November (04).
He says, "If this movie can inspire a few of that 50 per cent that did not vote in this country to get back involved, to re-engage, then the movie will have accomplished something important."
Fahrenheit 9/11 is due to open in 868 screens across America tomorrow (25JUN04).24/06/2004 13:48
