Faces Reunite On Stage
Rock legend ROD STEWART stunned fans at his Los Angeles concert yesterday (30AUG04) by reuniting with his FACES bandmates in a rare on-stage performance.
The MAGGIE MAY star was joined by RONNIE WOOD and IAN McLAGAN midway through his Hollywood Bowl show, and thrilled crowd members with a set of five of the seventies band's hits.
The gig marked their first extensive collaboration since Wood - who left the Faces to join the ROLLING STONES on their 1975 tour - helped out Stewart at an MTV Unplugged taping in early 1993.
Stewart apologetically warned the Bowl crowd that some of the tunes could be rough because of limited rehearsal time, but Wood summed up the Faces' career by saying, "That's what we're about is f***ing up, baby."
The Faces, famous for their alcohol-fuelled antics, formed in 1969 when Stewart and Wood joined SMALL FACES members McLagan, drummer KENNEY JONES and late bassist RONNIE LANE.31/08/2004 21:01
