Engine Trouble Blamed For Tomarken Crash
LATEST: American National Transportation and Safety Board investigators believe engine failure is to blame for a plane crash which killed former game show host PETER TOMARKEN and his wife. A preliminary investigation shows the plane's engine had extensive damage, including a hole in the engine's case. Tomarken was flying the plane when it crashed into the ocean near Santa Monica, California, last Monday (13MAR06), killing Tomarken and his wife KATHLEEN. The couple were en route to San Diego, California, where they were scheduled to pick up a patient for transport to the University of California Medical Center in Los Angeles. The trip was part of the volunteer program Angel Flight which provides flights to those unable to afford medical transportation. Tomarken hosted a series of game shows in the 1980s, including PRESS YOUR LUCK.
