Eminem - Eminem Fights Off Destiny's Child For Us Number One

EMINEM has fought off a strong challenge from DESTINY'S CHILD to stay atop the American album charts for a second week.

The rapper's ENCORE crashed into the top spot last week (17NOV04) after just four sales days and he has gone on to sell another 871,000 units to stay there.

At 1.6 million copies sold, Encore ties the two-week total of 2002's THE EMINEM SHOW, which also debuted at number one after a similarly shortened sales week.

But Destiny's Child are still celebrating after shifting 497,000 copies of their third album DESTINY FULFILLED in its opening week.

Meanwhile, LIL' JON + THE EAST SIDE BOYZ enjoyed a career-high sales week with 363,000 sales of their new album CRUNK JUICE to land at number three.

And AMERICAN IDOL star CLAY AIKEN scored the biggest debut for a holiday album since 1991 when his new album MERRY CHRISTMAS WITH LOVE landed at number four with 270,000 sales.
