Early Nirvana Footage Released On Dvd
Early footage of NIRVANA playing at a friend's house party in 1987 is set to be included in a boxed set tribute to the group, to be released this Christmas (04).
Limited editions of the three-CD package will feature the grainy film, which was captured by a pal.
The boxed set was originally intended for release in 2001 - to coincide with the 10-year anniversary of Nirvana's breakthrough album NEVERMIND - but plans by Nirvana bandmates DAVE GROHL and KRIST NOVOSELIC were thwarted by lawsuits from Cobain's widow COURTNEY LOVE.
She objected to their planned use of a previously unreleased track, called YOU KNOW YOU'RE RIGHT, in the package.
The dispute was eventually settled in 2002, with the parties agreeing to earmark the tune for a self-titled Nirvana compilation, which was released in October of the same year.
Meanwhile, Novoselic is to release his memoirs OF GRUNGE + GOVERNMENT: LET'S FIX THIS BROKEN DEMOCRACY this month (SEP04).06/09/2004 02:16
