Doherty Thrown Off Music Show
Former LIBERTINES rocker PETE DOHERTY was thrown off the set of British music TV show TOP OF THE POPS last week (ends10DEC04) after he started fighting with an audience member.
The English singer, who was fired from the Libertines in May (04) after failing to conquer his drug demons, was performing on the BBC show with his new band BABYSHAMBLES.
During rehearsals, cheeky fan OLI REES-HORSLEY shouted, "How much crack have you had?"
Disgusted Doherty jumped off the stage and started hitting Rees-Horsley, before the pair were separated by security guards.
TOTP producer ANDI PETERS asked Doherty and Babyshambles to leave the studio, and let Rees-Horsley remain to watch the other acts.
Rees-Horsley says, "Andi told me Pete was waiting outside to have another go. All I remember is Pete coming for me like a whirlwind and the two of us grappling on the floor."14/12/2004 03:28
