Dmx's Disgust At Record Labels
Hip-hop star DMX has blamed greedy record labels for his decision to retire from music - he was sick of making so much money for them.
DMX, who insists his latest album GRAND CHAMP, is his final, has opted to bow out and concentrate on his fledging film career instead.
He says, "Giving up making music doesn't necessarily mean I'll give up performing. I just don't wanna give any more of myself to the record industry. It's not good.
"They make you pay for every aspect of your album, from taking it from your head to the point where it's in the street, being sold in stores. They make you pay for every aspect of it, yet they own it. It's like, 'How can I pay for it and you own it?' I'm not with it no more."27/11/2003 09:19
