Dixie Chicks Eliminate Bad Manson Vibes
21 March 2003The Dixie Chicks called on an American-Indian shaman to 'cleanse' a set
they were using to film a TV commercial - after learning it was once the home
of jailed serial killer Charles Manson.
Singers Emily Robison, MARTIE MAGUIRE and Natalie Maines drafted in a
medicine man in full regalia and armed with traditional Indian sage-and-cedar
wands after they learned the site was once the home of Manson.
A source on the set of the LIPTON ICE TEA commercial tells American
tabloid the STAR, "They just wanted to get rid of bad vibes. Everyone got
pretty spooked when we heard. One of the world's all-time evil guys lived
there. You can't expect the
place not to have bad vibes."
The set, used in late February (03) for an ad that's due to hit American
TV screens next month (APR03), was on a creepy, boulder-filled property next to
Santa Susana Pass State Park, high above Los Angeles in the town of
Chatsworth.
Manson and his followers, who moved onto the property in the late '60s,
were suspected of conducting up to 40 killings, including the high-profile 1969
death of pregnant actress Sharon Tate, wife of film-maker Roman Polanski.
The exorcism appeared to be successful - sources say the two-day shoot
went off without a hitch.
