Diana 'Convinced Charles Would Love Her'
Late British royal DIANA, PRINCESS OF WALES was convinced she could make her husband Prince Charles fall in love with her, even though she knew he was still in love with old flame Camilla Parker Bowles.
The British princess overheard a phone conversation between the pair during her 1981 honeymoon, where Charles openly declared his eternal love for his now ex-wife.
Diana believed her beauty and positive public image would eventually make her husband fall in love with her, but their marriage fell apart in the early 1990s and they divorced in 1996.
Prince Charles married Camilla earlier this year (05) - which gave her the title CAMILLA, DUCHESS OF CORNWALL.
Royal relative Princess Michael Of Kent reveals, "When you're a young girl and you marry a man for love and you discover on the honeymoon he's talking to the other woman on the phone, and saying, 'No matter what, I will always love you,' to Camilla, and Diana picked up an extension.
"Diana thought because she's young and beautiful he will forget about Camilla and love her, but he didn't."
