Dhani Harrison Follows George Into Music
George Harrison's son DHANI is following his father into the music business - but insists he doesn't care whether he's successful or not.
The 25-year-old played at his father's posthumous induction into the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME on Monday night (15MAR04), and announced his intention to become a musician like the BEATLES star.
However, Dhani - who inherited $198 million (GBP110 million) when his father passed away in November 2001 - is determined to remain true to himself.
He says, "I don't really plan to be a pop star. I just want to be able to make music without the 'My Dad' thing hanging over me.
"It's something everyone in my position goes through and it's a tricky one. You can't help being a musician, because you've grown up with music, yet being one means being compared to your dad and being slated for it.
"Truthfully, I really don't have the ambitions of most people going into the music industry."
