De Niro Sheds A Tear At Dad's Painting Exhibit
Robert De Niro was brought to tears on Saturday (18JUN05) when he attended an exhibition of paintings by his late father in France.
The showcase of 56 works in Roubaix's La Piscine Museum is the first European retrospective of ROBERT DE NIRO SR's paintings.
The Raging Bull legend, whose father died more than 10 years ago, said as he dabbed his eyes, "This is a magnificent exhibit. I'm sad that my father is not here."
In the 1960s, De Niro Sr spent several years living in France, where he studied a number of painters who heavily influenced his work.
