Daughter Speaks Of Grief At Cash Funeral
Country star JOHNNY CASH's daughter ROSEANNE spoke of her intense grief as the WALK THE LINE singer was laid to rest yesterday (15SEP03) in his native Tennessee.
Mourners including SHERYL CROW and EMMYLOU HARRIS paid their respects at the FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH of Hendersonville near Nashville.
Roseanne, whose mother VIVIAN LIBERTO was married to the BOY NAMED SUE legend for 12 years, said, "I can almost live in a world without Johnny Cash because he will always be with us. I cannot begin to imagine a world without Daddy."
Singer KRIS KRISTOFFERSON told the congregation, "He represented the best of America; we're not going to see his like again."
Crow and Harris sang gospel classic THE OLD RUGGED CROSS and BOB DYLAN's EVERY GRAIN OF SAND in tribute to Cash.
The music legend died of respiratory failure last Friday (12SEP03) after suffering from complications with diabetes. He was 71. His wife of 35 years, JUNE CARTER CASH, died in May (03) whilst undergoing heart surgery.16/09/2003 18:20
