Danza's Romance Left Mother Hungry

Actor Tony Danza infuriated his mother so much with his choice of girlfriend when he was younger, she went on a hunger strike until he ended the romance.

The former TAXI star is now happily married, but he admits that when he was still single, a few of his choices sparked a lot of controversy at home.

He says, "My mom was nuts. I had a girlfriend once that my mother went on a hunger strike about. I swear to God, my mother went on a three-day hunger strike.

"She wouldn't get out of bed, she wouldn't drink, wouldn't eat. She wouldn't do anything until I broke up with the girl."
