Cruise Treats Prom Kids

Tom Cruise made this year's (03) Prom extra special for a bunch of Washington students last week (ends13JUN03), he stopped by their table at the swanky TEATRO GOLDONI to wish them well.

The movie star was dining with his girlfriend Penelope Cruz and kids CONNOR and ISABELLA when he spotted the scholars preparing for their big night, and wandered over to say hello.

A fellow diner says, "The kids were speechless. They spent the rest of their meal giggling about the encounter. It must have been one hell of a Prom for them."

Cruise was in Washington to meet US Education Secretary ROD PAIGE and discuss religious intolerance in Germany with White House officials.
