Crowe.s Inspiration Questioned

Fans of soon-to-wed Hollywood rocker RUSSELL CROWE are convinced his new album was inspired by unrequited past-loves.

The actor's band THIRTY ODD FOOT OF GRUNTS are due to release their sixth album, OTHER WAYS OF SPEAKING on 8 April (03), the day after he marries DANIELLE SPENCER.

But devotees and sources close to the star have suggested fellow Kiwi Danielle may not have been the muse behind some of the love ballad's on Crowe's LP.

The title track is rumoured to be about Crowe's unrequited love for actress JODIE FOSTER, and fans who heard the actor sing NEVER BE LONELY AGAIN at a gig in August 2002 are convinced he wrote it about MEG RYAN - who he was dating at the time.

A fan says of the song, which Crowe duets with CHRISSIE HYNDE on the new LP, "Crowe introduced the song by saying that this song was different from all others that he'd written in the past.

"He said he was the 'king of unrequited love' but maybe in his old age he finally got it right. Then he sang, Never Be Alone Again."

It's not the first time Crowe has captured the women in his life through verse. The track SOMEBODY ELSE'S PRINCESS on Thirty Odd Foot Of Grunts' album BASTARD LIFE OR CLARITY was widely reported to be about long-time pal NICOLE KIDMAN.
