Crowe Relieved At Brief Oscars Role
Hollywood star RUSSELL CROWE had his best Oscars yet this month (MAR06) - despite not being nominated for any awards. The GLADIATOR actor was one of the presenters at the Academy Awards on 5 March (06) and was delighted he didn't have to walk up the red carpet to chat to waiting reporters. He says, "It was the best Oscars I'd ever experienced because I went there, went in the back door - didn't do the red carpet - was on stage for roughly 40 seconds and then I was back in my hotel room with my tracksuit pants on with my son on my knee watching the rest of the telecast before people had stopped stuttering." Crowe won the Best Actor Oscar in 2001 for his performance in Gladiator and was nominated in the same category for THE INSIDER in 1999 and A BEAUTIFUL MIND in 2002.
