Craig Has More In Common With Connery Than Just Bond
New JAMES BOND Daniel Craig owes his acting prowess to his 007 predecessor SIR Sean Connery, after the older actor donated money to an organisation that gave Craig his first starring role.
In 1986, generous Connery gave $90,000 (GBP50,000) to save Britain's financially struggling National Youth Theatre (NYT).
The same year, Craig, who had just joined the NYT, took a major role in musical NIGHT SHRIEK, based on William Shakespeare's classic play Macbeth.
Former Bond Timothy Dalton is also a former NYT student, while Connery and fellow former 007 star SIR Roger Moore are vice-presidents of the theatre.
