Cowell Blasts Prince

AMERICAN IDOL judge SIMON COWELL has turned his famous barbed comments on PRINCE after being appalled by the pop superstar's surprise performance at the show's finale last week (24MAY06). The PURPLE RAIN hitmaker took to the stage at the Kodak Theatre for a quick run through two new songs before dashing off, refusing to meet the Idol contestants or greet the audience. Idol host RYAN SEACREST has since reported that he feared Prince would be a no-show - because he appeared just minutes before he was due to hit the stage. And Cowell insists Prince's attitude isn't one he'd like Idol winners to display at any time in their career. He says, "It just tells you how selfish he is. He comes on, not a word - 'I'm not gonna sing with anybody else, I'm not gonna say goodbye.' Thank you for your generosity, Prince."

PRINCE is a music god The fact that he just showed up and walked off stage..... SO WHAT what was they gonna say? Have Ryan ask some stupid question. Or Simon say something stupid! I mean come on people Prince has been putting out the hits since forever, and continues to put out hits to this day.

Well I agree with Simon.. Prince was lame and scary back in hte day and he is just as friuty as ever. As far as Sly Stallone being rude like that, well I dont think so. He has his own talent and it is not even on the same page as Prince want to be a symbol. What is that all about give me a break. Prince is out dated. Way to go Simon.. That is not Idol materail.

What gets me today is how much stock people put into this whole thing. It's just entertainment. We've all heard the saying "any publicity, is good publicity," and that's what this whole thing is about. These two guys are entertainers (in whatever capacity) and will do whatever it takes to make sure they are noticed. The one thing we should all ask ourselves is "have we been entertained?" Because if you have, then they did what they were paid to do. I get a kick out of the whole thing and though some of the performers could have done much better, I truly loved all the music. As for the talent of the contestants this season, there were a couple of very talented guys and it was too bad they were voted off. But in retrospect, most of these contestants will receive a recording contract and if they truly have talent and (most importantly) staying-power, then we all will be enjoying them for many years to come.

Agreeing with Simon is just one thing I don't often do but I will this time. Besides the fact that Prince didn't associate with anyone and things like that.... I don't care for him. I don't know any of his songs, I am not old enough! I know that it was great for some people to see him but, hello, I am 20 and don't know him! I am sure there were others just like me, so the fact that he even appeared was kinda annoying. I don't think he can sing, and he DOESN'T have sex appeal! The thought that he does is laughable! As a remark to Kelly Clarkson not giving Idol the credit for her grammies. Idol didn't give her the grammies, she earned them. He voice, her songs. And it wasn't even Idol that gave her the title "American Idol" it was the American public! For next season's finale maybe they should stick with people who can sing, and are polite enough to arrive on time. Also make sure that the majority of the audiance at the theater and at home know who in the hell they are!

If you even new the slightest thing about Prince you would know that he’s not into sucking up and gabbing with anyone... and the fact is when you’re a real artist you don’t need to. Bottom line, it was great that Prince was able to graced American Idol with his presence.

Yeah there will never be another self-indulgent, egotistical, maniacal, greedy pop star to ever step on the stage again..gimme a break. Simon is right this guy is a real piece. Prince your everything I want my son not to become, and based on purple rain, you turned out to be everything your father said you were, even if he was a drunk...which is exactly what I suspect you are...aint life a bitch!

Prince walks around like he still has some relevance in the music scene.... Someone needs to tell him he's a HAS BEEN!! No one cares about his music any more!!He should be kissing the feet of the American Idol producers for even letting his washed up a** on the show. Dear Prince - You're too old, let go!!
