Cowell And Fuller Heading To Court

Music mogul SIMON COWELL has been hit with a $180 million (GBP100 million) lawsuit which alleges he copied the format of hit shows POP IDOL and AMERICAN IDOL for his British TV talent contest THE X FACTOR.

Former SPICE GIRLS manager SIMON FULLER, whose company 19 TV created the Pop Idol blue-print, names FremantleMedia, Cowell and his companies Simco and Syco in court papers filed at London's High Court.

In addition to alleging breach of contract, 19 TV is also suing for breach of contact, alleging producers who worked on Pop Idol are now working on The X Factor despite signing binding contracts which prevented them from working for rival programmes.

Why is Simon Fuller suing Simon Cowell now that the show is in its second run. Did he wait to see how successful it would be before he decided to go ahead or is it that he is jealous?????????????????????

Everyone seems to be getting in on the act. Maybe he will have a go at the less famous next. A Swedish company is promoting its language courses next year by staging Pop Idol events in Brighton (Mr Fuller reportedly owns a large property in Brighton ironically). They feel that licences are not for them so will continue to run this despite the current court case. What next?? http://www.sts-education.com/swedish/lang/
